About Us

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Character, Integrity, and the Aloha Spirit.
We would rather lose than win without honor.

Fencing is the perfect combination of sport and martial art. Fencing offers all the benefits of traditional Oriental martial arts (discipline, strategy, competition, exercise). Fencing is a finesse martial art where strength and size lose a lot of their importance.

Colin, Nestor Rosario, and Jenny Chow celebrate Nestor's being inducted as an honorary lifetime member of Salle Honolulu
TGIFridays
Honolulu, January 30, 2004

We provide facilities and fencing instruction to people of all ages in all three weapons:

  • foil
  • saber
  • epée

Our guarantee:   “Improve your performance against the six-fingered man or your money back!”
(The six-fingered man is the fencing villain in “The Princess Bride,” a novel and movie by William Goldman.)

We are also available to do fencing demonstrations.

Spectators and new students always welcome, but please contact us ahead of time as to when you'd like to visit. No drop-ins. Join us!

A NOTE ON PRONUNCIATIONS

Pronunciation of the name of our fencing club: In the word "Salle" the "e" is silent.
(Salle, like "salon," means room in French and is short for salle d'armes.  Literally, that means "room of weapons," but in this context it means "fencing school" or "fencing club.")

Moiliili is pronounced mo-eely-eely. Think of a person named Mo being followed by two eels.
